Monday evening marked the first of four Delegate Orientations to be held this week over Iowa's ICN (Iowa Communication Network). The ICN connects us through video conferencing where we are able to both see one another from remote locations throughout the state and to also participate in a conversation. Here I'm pictured from the origination site in Johnston at the Heartland AEA center.
Also connected on Monday night were Geode UniServ Unit from the New London HS; Mid-Iowa UniServ Unit from two locations--Ames HS and Marshalltown Community College; State Unit Nine from two locations--Oskaloosa Public Library and Ottumwa HS; Polk Suburban UniServ Unit at the Johnston AEA (with me--pictured below); and Siouxland UniServ Unit from the AEA in Sioux City.
We have more Delegate Orientations in store for us the next three nights. Those orientations will include:
Tuesday, March 6th
CedarWood UniServ Unit; East Central UniServ Unit; Great River UniServ Unit and MississippiBend UniServ Unit.
Wednesday, March 7th
South Central UniServ Unit; Northern Pride UniServ Unit; JDC UniServ Unit; Southwest UniServ Unit; Unit Two; and NEIEU.
Thursday, March 8th
Hawkeye UniServ Unit; Unit Ten and Lincolnway UniServ Unit
Team ISEA has a long tradition of making the time to provide orientations for our members in preparation for our Delegate Assembly. The 2007 Delegate Assembly will be held on April 12th and 13th in Ames at Hilton Coliseum. We look forward to the over 400 delegates from across the state coming together to deliberate and move our association forward!
