Mother of Scholarship Winner is Honored to Accept Check on Daughter's Behalf

Officers and Building Representatives of the Cedar Falls Education Association gathered for their monthly meeting at Peet Junior High at the end of the school day Monday afternoon.
First on the agenda was the presentation of the ISEA Scholarship winner. Kathy Waack, a Cedar Falls teacher (standing at right) shared with the group that her daughter, Brittany, is studying in Paris, France this semester as she is immersed in learning and living the French language. Brittany Waach is a Junior at Central College in Pella.

Kathy Waack accepts the ISEA Scholarship check on behalf of her daughter Brittany. Brittany is the 3rd student from Cedar Falls and the 7th winner from NEIEU since ISEA began honoring the children of ISEA members that are juniors or seniors in the college of education--the first in 1993.

Picking up with the CFEA Building Rep agenda, is Jaci Pins, (pictured at right) CFEA President and Kindergarten teacher at Hansen Elementary.
It was extra special to hand-deliver the check to a member of Team ISEA who has modeled the profession so well that her own daughter is soon to join our profession. Thanks for your leadership Kathy Waack and thanks CFEA for the great work you continue to do for all members of Team ISEA!
