Next Stop, Eagle Grove!

By Mid-morning on Thursday, October 18th we were on our association road to Eagle Grove. The opening of the school year marked the opening of their brand new elementary. What a delight for students and educators alike to have such a usable and beautiful educational facility!

Our host, Melody Amonson put together a wonderful jam-packed schedule for us.
I began by reading to all three groups of 4th graders. Pictured (at left) with his homeroom of 4th graders is Joe Chamberlain.

Pictured with their homeroom of 4th graders (below) are Angela Gloede and Jeanne Harrington.

Following lunch I read to three combined groups of Kindergarten students in the Media Center. Pictured (below) with their homerooms are (from left to right) Camy McCoy and Angie Anderson.

The third group of Kindergarteners were lucky to have Eileen Beebe substituting for the day. Here Eileen is pictured (at left) with her group.

The next group I did a read aloud for was for three groups of 1st grade. Pictured below with their homeroom groups are (left to right) Miss Curry and her 1st graders; Mrs. Amonson (on the right) and para educator Nancy Aldrich with their homeroom.

The third group of 1st grade is pictured in the Eagle's Nest with their student teacher Angie Hinton. I was told that the Eagle's Nest is a very special place here at Eagle Grove Elementary!

The final group of youngsters for a read aloud were the combined group of 2nd and 3rd graders. Pictured below (left to right) are Mr. Daggett and para educator Mrs. Weist and their homeroom and Mrs. Van Patten (at right) and para educator Mrs. Mickelson and their homeroom.

Also a part of the group were the homeroom classes of (left to right) Miss Schlieman and her homeroom and Mrs. Watson and para educator Mrs. Sadler and their homeroom.

It was a most enjoyable visit to connect with great educators here in Eagle Grove. I would say the students and community are most fortunate to having such dedicated professionals working so hard on behalf of their future.
