West Hancock EA Early Morning Coffee and Conversation, Followed by Classroom Read Alouds

Thursday morning, October 18th our association road took us to Britt to have a conversation with members of the West Hancock EA.

Mary Clark (at left) school counselor and West Hancock EA President brought in pastries and coffee and a handful of members joined us before the school day began with students.

My first classroom visit took us to the 2nd grade class of Vicki Glawee (pictured at right). The students had just completed their opening exercises and were just the best listeners for the read aloud!

Next, I read to Betty Kobes' 1st grade. Betty is pictured (at left) with her homeroom of 1st graders.

One more group of 1st graders for a read aloud! Here (on the right) is Patricia Savoy and her homeroom of 1st graders. The children started by singing the national anthem to us! They were so cute and did such an awesome job!

My final read aloud at West Hancock Elementary in Britt was in the 3rd grade classroom of Rachel Zuehl. Rachel (pictured at left) is pictured with her homeroom of 3rd graders.
Before leaving Britt, we headed to the High School wing of the building to Mrs. Kudej's class of 11th and 12th graders for Speech. I spoke to the students about "paying attention" while you have the instruction before you. I told them you never know where your life paths will lead you and you will most certainly have many opportunities to speak in public. They were a great group of young leaders with terrific questions!
