Our day began with taking breakfast to Johnson Elementary in Cedar Rapids, followed by a full day on the Kirkwood Community College campus, we then traveled a short distance to the east on Highway 30 to Mount Vernon. The Mount Vernon EA organized a meeting of the association membership to visit and enjoy a slice of cheesecake.

It was great to reconnect with Mount Vernon members who I first met a year ago. I understand their frustration of additional paperwork and data collection as well as concerns of communication. Thanks Suzzette for your leadership and thank you Mount Vernon educators for the work you do every day!
