Wednesday Afternoon Begins in Melcher-Dallas

On Wednesday afternoon, November 28th, following a quick lunch in Chariton, South Central UniServ Director Jim Crotty and I were off to Melcher-Dallas. Our first of two stops took us to the Melcher-Dallas High School.

We are greeted by Melcher-Dallas EA President Ann Knipper. Ann (pictured at left) teaches High School Resource Room and Individual Reading. Ann also serves as Chief Negotiator. Melcher-Dallas EA's membership is up by two this year, thanks for your leadership, Ann!

President Ann led the way to the room of first year teacher, Abby Heaberline. Abby is a 9th grade Language Arts teacher. Abby is pictured (at right) in the back of the classroom of her 9th grade English class. I spoke to her students about leadership opportunities and responsibilities they have right here in High School. It is always such a treat to meet our newest energetic and creative professionals that joined the teaching ranks!

Our second stop in Melcher-Dallas was at the Elementary School. Here I had the chance to read to two groups of students. My read aloud for the day was Counting on Frank by Rod Clement.

Pictured below (from left to right) are Mrs. Nolte and her Kindergarten class and Mrs. Offenburger (on the right), along with paraprofessional Mrs. Phillips, and their 2nd grade class.

Thanks, Melcher-Dallas EA members for your leadership in the classroom as well as on Team ISEA!
