Lunch, Newspaper Interview, Radio Interview, Then One Last School Visit to Lucia Wallace Elementary

Our afternoon on Wednesday, October 17th gave us a quick lunch break, then off to the Upper Des Moines Newspaper in Algona for an interview with Mindy. We next headed west of town to the radio studio of KLGA for an interview with Jennifer.

Our school day visits ended with a visit to the upper elementary building in Algona, Lucia Wallace Elementary.

One classroom visit took us into the 5th grade classroom of Algona EA leader Diane Kleinweber. Diane asked two of her students Nathan and Ellie (pictured at right with me) to demonstrate how they practice and record music onto the computer with their Recorders. The students were quite skilled and the technology just amazes me!

UniServ Director Steve King and I received a nice tour of the building and stopped in for a short observation of 4th graders in Art creating their own pottery.

Our final stop at Lucia Wallace Elementary was back in Diane Kleinweber's 5th grade where I read aloud the book Probuditi! Diane is pictured (at right) with her homeroom of 5th graders.
