Tuesday, October 24th Begins My Travels to State Unit 9 and Geode

I left home before the sun was up to head to Oskaloosa to Oasis Alternative High School for a 7:30 a.m. reception. Here I met with Oskaloosa EA president Amanda Reynolds (seated) and past president of the Oskaloosa EA Cheryl Benson (standing at left). Cheryl has been a great mentor for Amanda bringing her Legislative Kickoffs, Delegate Assemblies and on her own—Amanda was a delegate to the NEA Representative Assembly last summer in Orlando.

Joining us for coffee, flavored teas, juice and sweet rolls was ISEA Executive Board member Paul Burrow, Oskaloosa HS Spanish teacher and his wife, Nancy, Oskaloosa HS Special Education teacher.

A most pleasant surprise in joining us was ISEA recommended candidate for the Iowa House, Eric Palmer. Eric (pictured at left) is just one of the most sensible kind of person you’d ever meet. Eric is going to be such a great addition to the Iowa House of Representatives.

Thanks Oskaloosa EA for hosting the meet and greet! You continue to do great things!
